5 Proofs of True Love

Love is a powerful concept. Everyone wants to be loved. I mean truly loved. Don’t settle for a counterfeit. This article will show you the five elements of true love so you can give it to others and experience it for yourself.

Everyone wants to be loved, but love is one of the most misunderstood concepts in the world.

Do you know what real love is? Most people don’t. As a result, they give their hearts to the wrong person or end up hurt deeply as relationships fail.

What does true love look like?

Here are a few things that love is not:

  • Love is not selfishness.
  • Love is not sex.
  • Love is not lust.
  • Love is not like.

There are four basic kinds of love found in the Bible. They are identified by these four Greek Words.

Sin Leads To More Sin – 30 Days to Victory

Day 20

Sins don’t happen alone.  They operate in groups.  If you surrender to one sin, expect more to follow.

Luke 11:26  “Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

This parable speaks of a man who had an evil spirit.  The evil spirit left him.  I believe the story implies that the man worked to rid himself of the evil spirit.  He was successful for a period of time.  However, the evil spirit recruited seven more wicked spirits and barged back into the man’s life.  He was worse off in the end than he was in the beginning!

There are several vital truths found in this parable.

Sin Paralyzes Love – 30 Days to Victory

Day 16

Don’t let your heart grow cold.

Matthew 24:12  “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

Most people are particular about the temperature of the beverages they drink.  If it was meant to be hot, they want it hot.  If it was made to be cold, they want it cold.  Anyone a fan of a nice hot milkshake?  I didn’t think so.

Love was made to be hot.  Love is not a state of being but rather a series of actions.  Love works.  It moves.  Like a boiling pot, love is active.

However, love can cool.  It can lose its fervor.  A boiling pot of love can become an ice cube of apathy in the wrong conditions.

Love and sin are opposites.  Love is hot.  Sin is cold.   Love gives.  Sin steals.  Love helps.  Sin hurts.  Love flows from the heart of God.  Sin was born in rebellion.

Sin Wars Against The Soul – 30 Days To Victory

Day 15

There is a war occurring in every Christian.  Fleshly desires of the sin nature besiege the redeemed soul.  The battle can be exhausting.  Here’s how to win.

1 Peter 2:11  “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”

A new nature was born within you when you trusted Christ.  Your soul was cleansed of sin and conveyed the righteousness of Christ.  It wants to please God in all things and cannot sin.

Your flesh did not get converted when your soul did.  It has the same old desires.  Your body doesn’t care what God wants or about your general welfare.  Lust takes what it wants without concern for consequence.

As you strive to live for God today, your flesh cries out (more…)
