Do you know an adamant unbeliever that needs Jesus? These powerful Bible verses for atheists and agnostics may help them see the light.

Atheism and agnosticism are on the rise. This is not due to new evidence against God or man’s evolution.

The real reason may surprise you!

While there are significant differences between atheists and agnostics, the end result is the same. The rejection of Christ and eternity in Hell. Share on X

It can be traced to the educational system.

When God was unceremoniously kicked out of schools in 1963, the educational system did not remain neutral. It became decidedly agnostic. Over time this changed as well. As students continued their education into high school, and especially college, that agnosticism morphs into atheism.

Today, the atheism is brazen. If religion is discussed in the classroom in a positive light, cults and world religions are given more time and better marks than true Christianity.

If you don’t believe it, look into it for yourself.

There is a definite correlation between one’s length of education and their rejection of the God of the Bible.

This is not because people have become “smarter.” It’s because they have been programmed.

God has placed into the heart of man the knowledge that there is something/someone transcendent and in control of things.

Every people group on the planet believes in a deity unless they are educated out of it.

Atheists declare that there is no God. There are many kinds of atheism. Some are noncommittal and others are militant. All reject God, the Bible, and the Saviour.

Agnostics affirm that we cannot know if there is a God. They attempt to take a neutral position of neither faith nor disbelief.

While there are significant differences between atheists and agnostics, the end result is the same. The rejection of Christ and eternity in Hell.

The Word of God can break through the strongholds in the mind and the walls in the heart.

Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

We must get them God’s Word!

Many Christians make a mistake when dealing with this group of unbelievers. They have been told that since atheists don’t believe the Bible that you cannot use a Bible argument to sway them.

That advice is only partially true.

While an initial conversation about spiritual things may not sway the atheist or agnostic, the Bible verses you use become seeds that God can use to convict them in the future.

We must have coherent answers to their arguments. We should have our logical responses and illustrations prepared for their questions. But if you don’t use the Word of God, they cannot get saved!

1 Peter 1:23
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

The word of God is powerful!

Isaiah 55:11
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:It shall not return unto me void,But it shall accomplish that which I please, And it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

God’s Word will not return void. It always works, even if we can’t the result.

Consider this illustration.

When a soldier is confronted by an enemy in battle, he must use his weapon to defend Himself. But what if the enemy trying to kill him doesn’t believe in guns? Does the soldier need to take the gun apart in front of the enemy and explain all the internal workings of the gun before pulls the trigger? Of course not! He just needs to use it!

The Bible will do its work. We just need to use it!
