Preparation For Soul Winning

Preparation is key to any successful endeavor.  Soul winning is no different.  Here are some practical items to consider when preparing to win souls.

Luke 10:1–2, 17 “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”

In Luke 10:1-16, our Lord gathered his disciples to give them instructions as they went out from city to city in His name.  He prepared them for what they would encounter in ministry and gave them instructions on how to respond to various situations.

Preparation allowed the disciples to have confidence in their purpose and accomplish their task with gladness.  There is no joy like obeying the Saviour in getting out the Gospel!

In this article, I give you an outline that we use in soul winning training. Usually, the bullet points are expanded upon with instruction and a handout given to each student for notes. Also, there is a link at the end of the article to one version of a sermon that accompanies this lesson.
