How you think about sin and sinners will protect you from temptation or open the door for seduction.
Psalm 37:1 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, Neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.”
There are two commands in this verse that will keep us from falling into foolish thinking regarding sinners.
The word “fret” literally means to grow warm from agitation. Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines the word in this verse to mean, “To tease; to irritate; to vex; to make angry.”

God always provides an exit from temptation for His children. You don’t have to sin.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
Have you ever been driving on an interstate and missed your exit? You can lose a significant amount of time in some areas of the country because the exits are far apart.

Social pressure is the use of persuasion, influence, or intimidation to make someone do something.
Let’s put these two together to define our subject for today.
Peer pressure is when someone of equal standing attempts to persuade or coerce another into doing something they wouldn’t usually do.
There are two types of peer pressure. Direct peer pressure (more…)
There is one behind the scenes planning your demise. He lurks in the shadows hoping you will not notice him.
Like a puppet master, he pulls strings hoping you follow his lead. As a skilled tactician, he strategizes your defeat. As a dark general, he marshalls his forces against you planning attacks. As a devious con artist, he offers you what you want but only gives pain. As a subtle liar, he will come to you as a friend only to destroy you after he gains your trust. He is the tempter.
He is known by many names: (more…)
