Pastors are on the front lines of spiritual battle. They need an abundance of prayer to survive and thrive. How much do you pray for pastors?
1 Thessalonians 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”
This verse is the cry of every pastor. They are keenly aware of their need for God.
Here are five reasons to pray fervently and often for your pastor.
1. Pastors represent God.
Wow. Think about that statement.
Pastors represent the Almighty Creator of the Universe in a community. They are the undershepherd of Jesus Christ leading local congregations. This high calling is a great privilege and a terrible responsibility.
A humble pastor knows that he is not worthy of the title. Yet, he accepts it in obedience to God’s call.
1 Corinthians 9:16 “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
1 Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”
Only through God’s grace and intercessory prayer of others can a pastor hope to satisfy his high calling. (more…)

You may not know that people began exchanging gifts on Christmas to celebrate the amazing gift God offers to all of mankind. Have you received the Gift of God?
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
God Bought You A Gift.
A gift is something that someone else purchases and offers to you with no strings attached. The value of a gift is limited by the wealth of the one buying it. Almighty God has unlimited resources. Imagine how valuable the gift He bought for you must be!
The Gift of God is Eternal Life.
God wants you to live forever with Him in Heaven. Heaven is a real place of no sorrow, pain or death where we can live in eternal fellowship with God and one another.
Our sins disqualify us from going to Heaven, so (more…)

God calls men to do His work. When God calls a man to the ministry, He separates him from his peers calling him to a special task. Learn more about this holy calling.
Acts 13:1–4 “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.”
Each child of God is called to good works and service of the Saviour. Eph 2:10 The Christian life should be filled with loving service to our Lord. Yet, God calls certain men to positions of leadership and particular works. He chose Abraham as the Father of the Jews, Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, and Samuel as a prophet and Judge. What a privilege that God still calls men to fulfill His purposes!
When God calls a man to ministry, He separates him from his peers calling him to a specific work. In Acts 13:2, the Holy Ghost called Barnabas and Saul for missionary ministry. They were to leave family and friends traveling to distant lands to spread the Gospel.
It ‘s hard to describe the call of ministry (more…)
A functional calendar is an indispensable tool of stewardship in life management. We live life by a series of dates and times. Is your calendar system helping you stay on top?
Ephesians 5:15–16 “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Time is life. How you spend your time is how you spend your life. The word redeem in the verse above means to ‘buy back’ or ‘rescue from loss.’ Time is wasted when it is not carefully accounted for by a schedule and a calendar. I use Nozbe for my tasks. I use Fantastical 2 for my calendar.
