Why Memorize Scripture?

Imagine that you wanted to build a house. You hired the best architect who drew beautiful plans. You contracted the best builder to make your dream home a reality. After months of preparation, the day arrived to begin. The foundation has been laid. The project is ready to go. Excited to be starting the project, everyone showed up at the job site early. But wait a minute. You realize that you forgot to order the building material! There is no framing lumber, no nails, nothing.

There are plenty of building materials in the lumber yard. The problem is that they are not available at your job site where needed. Even if you have the best plans and the master builder, nothing can be accomplished without the proper material.  

So it is with the Bible. Knowing the answers are in the Bible is not the same as having them at hand.
