God has given every believer the commandment to spread the good news of the Gospel and make disciples. Are you saved? Implement these five disciplines to be a successful soul winner.

Sinners can only be saved when they believe in the finished work of Lord Jesus Christ. But how can they be saved if they don’t believe? How can they believe if they don’t hear?

Romans 10:13–15

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

God has entrusted each of His redeemed children with the Gospel. Do you faithfully share the Gospel? You can win souls if you follow these simple steps.

This acrostic will remind you of 5 disciplines to be a successful soul winner.

1. Salvation On The Mind

In order to be a soul winner, salvation must be on your mind constantly. It is a sad fact that many Christians get so caught up in the details of daily life that they do not regularly think about redemption.

We should rejoice in our own salvation daily.

Psalm 13:5

But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Psalm 35:9

And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: It shall rejoice in his salvation. When we rejoice in our salvation, we praise the LORD with our lips.

Psalm 40:16

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.

Meditate upon your salvation daily. Thank God for His mercy and grace. Live as one who has been rescued from Hell and given a new lease on life.

With salvation on your mind, you cannot help but wonder if those around you are saved.

2. Awareness Of The Lost

Our Saviour came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Luke 19:10

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Christ lived each day to bring people back into fellowship with the Father.

He passed through Samaria to meet a troubled woman who needed to be saved. He was witnessing to her at the well when His disciples were off getting food. Our Saviour was conscious of lost souls.

The Apostle Paul was deeply burdened for his countrymen.

Romans 10:1

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

No wonder He was so quick to witness to the lost. He was always ready to give the Gospel.

Romans 1:14–16

14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Are you concerned about lost souls? Are you aware that everyone you meet is going to Heaven or Hell?

Put lost souls on your morning prayer list. Before you start your day pray for a burden for the lost, souls to be saved, boldness to witness, and spiritual power to make a difference.

3. Verses At The Ready

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment while illuminating the way of salvation.

1 Peter 1:23–25

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

We must use God’s Word to prove a sinner’s lost condition and lead them to a saving knowledge of Christ.

Are you ready to give Bible verses? Here are a few easy ways to have verses ready to win souls.

1. Pass Out Gospel Tracts.

Gospel tracts are an underrated tool of evangelism. They carry God’s Word faithfully. They never sleep. They can be used as a conversation starter or be handed out when a chat is not possible. Countless people have been saved by Gospel tracts. Carry them everywhere you go.

View the Gospel Tracts I have written here.

2. Carry A New Testament.

New Testaments are small enough to be accessible at all times. Mark it with the Gospel plan. Carry one on your person. You can put one in your vehicle, your lunchbox, briefcase, or purse. Keep tracts in your New Testament and ask God for opportunities to witness.

I recommend this New Testament for its size and accessibility.

3. Memorize Verses.

If you hide God’s Word in your heart, it is always available for use. The Holy Ghost can bring the appropriate verses to mind when you need them. God will bless you, and you will help others by the Bible verses you keep in your heart.

4. Excited At The Chance

Soul winning is exciting!

Too many Christians view evangelism as a terrible duty. They dread “bothering people” or are embarrassed to talk about Christ. Brethren, this ought not to be!

We should see soul winning as an exciting privilege.

Souls that we win to Christ are part of our Heavenly reward.

1 Thessalonians 2:19

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

Philippians 4:1

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

Soul winning is rarely dull. You never know who you will meet or what you will experience.

Be faithful to attend a scheduled soul winning time at your church. Work it into your schedule. It will encourage your heart to go with others, and God will use your efforts to energize the church.

Every day you meet unsaved people who are one heartbeat away from an eternity in Hell. What if you were excited to tell them about your Saviour? That would change your life!

5. Determined To Succeed

Our Saviour was determined to complete the Gospel plan. Nothing would stop Him from finishing His eternal work.

Luke 9:51

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

To put it simply, We don’t win souls because it is not a priority. Is witnessing for Christ your daily to-do list? For too many believers, evangelism is not important enough to schedule or make a priority. How sad!

Successful soul winners are determined. They go out of their way to make it happen. They sacrifice to get it done. Jesus is worth it. Sinners desperately need Christ. You are the Lord’s instrument to spread the truth. Be excited about it!

CONCLUSION

Bringing people to saving faith in Jesus Christ is one of the most important things you can do in this life. Your efforts will bring you joy in this life and matter for all of eternity.

Ask God daily to empower you to win souls for His glory. Implement these disciplines each day to become a successful soul winner.
