Have you accepted Jesus Christ’s proposal to spend eternity in Heaven? Find out how.
Most people enjoy weddings. What is there not to like? Amazing decorations, delightful music, elegant clothing, and two hearts becoming one touches a chord deep within us. Everyone hopes to find the love of their lives and live happily ever after. Yet, it seems that so few people find true love.
What if I told you that you can be a part of the greatest love story ever told? The greatest love story is found in the Bible. God loves you and wants to be with you forever. He made a way for you to go to Heaven and the simple plan of salvation is acted out every time someone gets engaged to be married.
[shareable]The four elements of a marriage proposal demonstrate how you can be forgiven and spend eternity in Heaven.[/shareable]
1. Attraction
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
A groom would never propose unless he was attracted to the object of his love. Have you ever seen a couple together and wondered what he/she saw in him/her? We all have. This reminds us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
God loves you. He wants to be with you forever. He sees past your sin that will separate you from Him and wants to be with you for eternity.
2. Preparation
The married couple must have a place to live, an income to survive, assume one another’s debts, and sacrifice for the good of one another. Preparation must be made for life together.
Jesus Christ died on the Cross to pay for your sin. Your sin debt is paid through His sacrifice if you accept Him by faith.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
He is preparing an eternal home for those who trust Him. In Heaven, He promises to care for all of our needs. Believers will live with Him happily ever after for eternity.
John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
3. Invitation
Every wedding begins with a proposal. Proposals can be elaborate or simple; romantic or mundane. Yet, there is always an offer of love and commitment. “Will you marry me?” has been asked countless ways, but it must be asked for a wedding to take place.
Christ offers you an invitation to Heaven. He has proposed to save you of your sins and care for you in eternal bliss.
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
4. Decision
A marriage proposal requires a decision. Many a man has been turned down by a woman who did not want to marry him. Love rejected is painful! Love accepted and returned is humanity’s greatest blessing.
God gave you a free will. He allows you to accept or reject His invitation. What is your decision? Will you say “I do” to Christ?
You would like to go to Heaven, wouldn’t you?
If you acknowledge that you are a sinner and believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour, accept His invitation right now. Say yes to His proposal and ask Him to forgive all your sin and save your soul. If you are not sure how to pray, say this prayer to Jesus meaning it with your whole heart. He will see your faith and save your soul.
[callout]Dear JESUS, I confess that I am a sinner and cannot go to Heaven on my own. I do not want to go to Hell. I believe You are the Son of God Who died on the Cross to pay for my sin. I believe You were buried and rose again. Please, forgive all my sin and take me to Heaven when I die. I am trusting You alone as my Saviour. Thank You for saving me. Amen.[/callout]
