Let this Truth sink in.  You.  Don’t.  Have.  To.  Sin.  Learn why in this article.

Romans 6:22  “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”

It is imperative that you grasp the magnitude of this truth.  Many people believe in the worldly philosophy of determinism.

Determinism is the belief that all events, including human action, are ultimately determined by causes external to the will. Some go so far as to imply that individual humans have no free will and cannot be held morally responsible for their actions.  It is a widespread belief among atheistic scientists and philosophers.  Unfortunately, this unbiblical philosophy that makes everyone a victim has crept into our churches.  This false doctrine may take various forms, but they all come from the same corrupt root.

On the contrary, the Bible teaches that everyone is responsible for their choices and actions.  God has given you a free will.  In His sovereignty, He chose that you get to choose.  But you do not get to pick the consequences of your decisions.  They are outside of your control.

Before you were saved, you had no choice but to sin.  You were a sinner by birth and by choice.  You could get victory over one sin only to trade it for another.  You sinned with no hope of any other life.  Without Christ, you were destined for a painful existence of sin in this life and a fiery torment for your sin in the next.

But then Jesus came!  His death, burial, and resurrection defeated sin, death, and satan.  This triumph made your eternal bliss and earthly victory possible.

Praise God!  The same power that saved you from the future penalty of your sin is able to save you from the present power of your sin.

We were servants of sin, but through Christ, we have been made free from sin to be the servants of God.  Think of the privilege!  We get to serve God.  We can join in His work where the yoke is easy, and the burden is light.  We can lay aside the unfruitful works of darkness and walk in His glorious light.  Is that your testimony?

A life surrendered to God bears the fruit of holiness.  No one this side of Heaven will ever be sinless, but we can sin less.  Through God’s power, we have less of the rotten works of the flesh and increasingly more fruit of the Spirit.  Furthermore, God takes the useless clay of our lives and molds us into the image of Christ!

If you remember who you used to be and where God wants to take you, it will help you shout NO to sin.

This is a hard saying.  You sin because you want to sin.  You sin because you choose to sin.  Take responsibility for your actions.  Stop blaming your parents, your upbringing, your past.  While you may have experienced terrible things in your background, they do not control you today.

You are made free from sin.  Choose to be free.

You are made a servant of God.  Choose to serve Him today.

[callout]“Heavenly Father, thank you for saving my soul and setting me free from sin. Empower me to live for you and be your servant by saying NO to the sinful desires of my flesh. I take responsibility for my choices. Forgive me of my sin. I yield myself to you and your will today. Amen.'[/callout]
