God loves you. Here are four facts about the afterlife that He wants you to know.
1. Eternity is a long time.
Eternity is defined as “without end of existence.” That’s a long time!
The Bible uses synonyms such as everlasting, forever, and immortality.
Eternity is a reality that you must face!
2. You will exist forever somewhere.
Your soul will never die. It will dwell somewhere forever. When you were born, God gave you (more…)
Suicide is a tragedy that takes place far too often. Don’t let it happen to you or your loved ones.
Every human is created with a desire to live. Self-preservation is the first instinct of mankind. Even satan knows that most people will do anything to save their own skin.
“And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.”
Why then do some people choose to take their own lives?
Years ago we had a young man start coming to church sporadically. He was in and out of jail and had a daughter that would ride our bus occasionally or come with a family member. He stopped interacting with us, and I lost track of him until the day my phone rang with the news that he hung himself in his parent’s garage. The family was devastated. Everyone that knew him was hurting deeply. It was a difficult funeral.
Most people give the quick answers of depression, anxiety, and mental illness. Is it really that simple?
Suicide is too complicated to cover thoroughly in one article. Today, let’s look at a few reasons people take their own lives and learn how to help them before it’s too late. (more…)
Have you ever asked this question? I have. What does the Bible say?
Where is God? Most of the time this question is not asking for the location of God. That question, though complex, is easy to answer with Scripture.
Positionally, God is in Heaven on His Throne.
Psalm 115:2–3 “Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.”
Relationally, He is in the hearts of believers.
Ephesians 3:17 “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,”
Practically, He is omnipresent; everywhere at the same time.
Psalms 139:7-10 “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”
Usually, this question has a deeper meaning. When mankind is hurting, struggling, tempted, or tested, the natural response is to ask “Where is God when I need Him?” “How could God allow this to happen?” These age-old questions have been asked countless times. (more…)
If we hope to turn America back to God, we must Save New England. Its influence is affecting you every day even if you don’t realize it. Here are three ways you can help us plant churches in New England.
God still calls men to do His work. How shall the lost hear the gospel without a preacher? They won’t. We are praying that God would send us called and consecrated men to start churches and pastor existing churches. Some men will come ready to start a church right away while others may need some time to finish preparation. Through the Save New England ministry, God is opening up summer internships for college students and lay staff positions to allow newcomers to New England to acclimate to the culture before starting a church or taking a pastorate.
We love to connect pastors new to the area with (more…)
New England. Is it a hopeless spiritual graveyard or an open door ready for revival? Find out why I believe we can win souls, plant churches, and experience revival in New England.
Countless New England towns enjoy white steeples rising above beautiful buildings and lush tree lines. Unfortunately, many of these churches have long since died. Their buildings and steeples are fossils of a bygone era. New England was the cradle of Christianity in America. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached powerfully throughout the region. Every village, town, and city was influenced by Christ and the power of the Gospel.
Some of history’s greatest preachers shook the territory for Christ. Wesley, Whitfield, Moody, Spurgeon, and more were used by God to save souls and bring Christ to the forefront of New England life.
Astonishing movements of God, such as the (more…)
