I’ll be preaching at NEW ENGLAND BAPTIST COLLEGE in Southington, CT tomorrow at 11:00 am.
The students and faculty at NEBC have incredible potential to make a difference for Christ in the world!
Please pray that God will empower me to make a lasting impact for Him.
All religions are not equal. Things that are different are not the same. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything.
The Religious Tolerance and Coexist movements are attempts to legitimize false religions. Usually, the people promoting these ideas want true believers to sit down and be quiet. They try to silence all mention of the preeminence of Christ.
True followers of Christ cannot pretend that different religions are equal. They teach different principles, motivations, and values. But most importantly, they teach different ways to save the souls of men. All roads don’t lead to Heaven. If there is a right way to Heaven, then there are also many counterfeit ways.
Jesus declares that He is ONLY way to Heaven. John 14:6 This makes true Christianity incompatible with every other religion. Either Jesus is the Saviour, or (more…)
Jesus came the first time as the suffering Lamb. He is coming again as the conquering Lion. Be not deceived – Jesus Christ is the KING of Kings!
Some people forget that Jesus Christ is the KING. They know that He came the first time to suffer and die. They forget that He is the King Who died for His subjects to live. The Creator submitted to His creation. The Life surrendered to death. Then He conquered death once and for all through the resurrection. The next time he comes will be much different. No more submission and death for our Lord. People will submit to Him or face His wrath. He is the KING of Kings!
The King Promised
Isaiah 9:6–7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; Lowly, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.”
Many verses in the Old Testament promise that a King and Saviour would come. The Israelites waited for Him for thousands of years. God’s timetable is not the same as ours, but He always keeps His Word. His promises are (more…)
What motivates people to go soulwinning at home and give to missions around the world? Here are 4 Undeniable Reasons to Spread the Gospel.
God commanded us to preach the Gospel to every creature. We must obey. God is the Master. We are the servants. God set the mission, told us how to accomplish it, and provided what we need to comply.
Will you obey? If God calls you to go to the mission field, you must go. God commanded you to give for others to go so you must give. God commands you to tell people about Jesus in your world so you must go soulwinning. The only alternative to the Great Commission is disobedience to God.
Luke 6:46 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
Don’t call Jesus Lord if you won’t obey Him.
John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Don’t tell God you love Him if you will not obey Him.
God has given you the freedom choose Him or reject Him. You accepted Him as your Savior. Now you must accept Him as your Lord by doing what He says. You accepted His love for you. Now you must give your love to Him by obedience.
Romans 4:20 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
True faith moves you to action. Believe God and obey His Word!
Giving is Biblical. Christians are to be generous with our time and treasure. God empowers us to live above the sins of covetousness and greed. Do you practice these four types of Biblical giving?
Alms is anything given to relieve the poor. It could be money, food, clothing, shelter, etc. God expects for us to look for the needs of the less fortunate and fulfill them as He leads us by His Holy Spirit. Recently, a few men in our church noticed that a family that drives a long distance to come to our church had bald tires on their vehicle. Those men privately gave money to purchase tires. The beneficiaries don’t even know who provided the funds. That is alms.
A meal bought for a hungry man would be alms. So would a coat bought to protect a child from the cold. Groceries that are given to a family that no income. These are all examples of alms. When is the last time you saw a need and quietly fulfilled it?
Build some money into your budget so you can be a blessing as God brings needs to your attention.
Matthew 6:1–4 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”
Abraham tithed before the Law. Moses penned it in the Law. Jesus commended it in the New Testament. Yes, you should Tithe. The Tithe is (more…)
