How the Resurrection of Christ Destroys Every Other Religion

All religions are not equal. Things that are different are not the same. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything.

How-the-Resurrection-of-Jesus-Christ-Destroys-every-other-religion

The Religious Tolerance and Coexist movements are attempts to legitimize false religions. Usually, the people promoting these ideas want true believers to sit down and be quiet.  They try to silence all mention of the preeminence of Christ.

True followers of Christ cannot pretend that different religions are equal. They teach different principles, motivations, and values. But most importantly, they teach different ways to save the souls of men. All roads don’t lead to Heaven. If there is a right way to Heaven, then there are also many counterfeit ways.

Jesus declares that He is ONLY way to Heaven. John 14:6 This makes true Christianity incompatible with every other religion. Either Jesus is the Saviour, or (more…)

Jesus Christ The King of Kings

Jesus came the first time as the suffering Lamb.  He is coming again as the conquering Lion.  Be not deceived – Jesus Christ is the KING of Kings!

Some people forget that Jesus Christ is the KING.  They know that He came the first time to suffer and die.  They forget that He is the King Who died for His subjects to live.  The Creator submitted to His creation.  The Life surrendered to death.  Then He conquered death once and for all through the resurrection.  The next time he comes will be much different.  No more submission and death for our Lord.  People will submit to Him or face His wrath.  He is the KING of Kings!

The King Promised

Isaiah 9:6–7   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Zechariah 9:9   Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; Lowly, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Many verses in the Old Testament promise that a King and Saviour would come.  The Israelites waited for Him for thousands of years.  God’s timetable is not the same as ours, but He always keeps His Word.  His promises are (more…)

There is Spiritual Power Available to You Today!

Acts 1:8

God has Spiritual Power Available for You.

God has not left you helpless as you travel this life. There is a power available for you that transcends all that you see and know. It is greater than any earthly circumstance or human frailty. It works in the believer transforming him into a little Christ. How can one so like his sinful father be conformed into the likeness of his Heavenly Father? This Power! How could rugged and unlearned fishermen such as Peter, James and John become great Apostles that would change the World? This Power! The same power is available to you today.

Acts 1:8

This Power Comes from the Fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus did not leave us comfortless when He ascended to Heaven. Truthfully, He said that it was better for Him to go so that we could have the Comforter. John 16:7 Listen to God’s Word! It is better for the Holy Spirit of God to dwell in you than if Jesus was on Earth today and you were walking by His side! And yet, the Holy Ghost is ignored, quenched and grieved by most of God’s people. They live as if there was no Holy Spirit. How sad!

Did you think of Him today? Did you yield to Him? Are you in tune to His promptings and filled with His power?  Confess your sin. Humble yourself. Declare your need of Him. Ask to be filled with the sweet Holy Spirit as you pour out yourself to God in Prayer.

This Power makes us Bold Witnesses of God’s Work.

The Holy Spirit has a great and manifold ministry in us. He teaches, leads, reminds, convicts, empowers, and much more. Yet, His most obvious ministry is that He makes us bold witnesses for God. He loosens our tongue to speak of Jesus. He emboldens our mouths to publicly praise the Father. He overrides our personality to make us proclaimers of the Glorious Gospel of Christ. How can we, who have seen great and mighty things, be silent?  If you are not a bold witness for Christ, it is not because of your personality. It is because your lack of this divine power.

This Power gives us influence near and far at the same time.

God is at work in your life right now and at work across the globe at the same time. His power is not weakened by time or distance. When a believer is filled with this Holy Spirit power, God can use his influence for good near and far. Don’t just focus on your small world today. Realize that God wants to use you both in Jerusalem and Judea at the same time. Your prayers can affect those near and far. Your testimony can bring God glory in your own home and in homes across New England. Your generosity can spread God’s love in your home town and around the world. Furthermore, your testimony could bring God glory in this life and long after you are in Heaven! God’s power is not diminished by time or distance. Yet, most don’t believe it. They proclaim and big God and yet believe Him to be small. Their vision and spiritual goals reveal the true thoughts of their heart.

Let’s live for God today! He can multiply our humble influence far beyond what we dare to believe.

This Power allows our influence to spread to the uttermost part of the earth.

Ah, yes. What if your godly influence could spread across the globe to the furtherest reaches? The shadowy corners of humanity can be brought to God by a surrendered Christian. Never underestimate the power of a humble servant of God. Your effectiveness has never depended on your own ability, but that of the God you serve. He is a great God!  Believe Him for great and mighty things.

I hear someone say, “Preacher, I am barely making it myself. I struggle through each day. I have my hands full with my own life and responsibilities. This is my lot. How can I make a difference?”

Dear friend, I am not encouraging you to “try harder” in your own strength. I am agreeing that your strength is insufficient! Would to God that all of us would seek the Divine strength found in the fullness of the Holy Spirit!

Do you tire of living in your own strength? Have you had enough of not living up to the dreams God has placed in your heart? Then Rejoice! There is divine power available to you today!

5 Ways to Put God First

You have something that takes priority in your life. We all do. It changes our schedules, captures our passions and causes sacrifices. We defend it. We fight for it. We claim it. What comes first in your life?  For the Christian, God should come first. He should capture our passions. His worship should change our schedules. His work should cause us to sacrifice. We should defend Him and proclaim Him!

5 Ways to Put God First

Sadly, for most Christians God has a small place in their lives. He is low on the priority scale. They feel as though they do God a favor by going to church an hour a week. Others may attend church regularly, but act very differently outside of church. Even those that are faithful to church rarely tithe 10% of their income or read their Bibles daily. Work, recreation, and rest often come before God. This should not be.

Matthew 6:33  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

God should be first in your life. If you seek God first, He will take care of all the other areas of your life. The first priority of a child of God should be to spend every day making sure God is preeminent in life. This is not easy. The world, the flesh and the devil will conspire together to keep God low on your list of priorities. You must fight for Him.

Let me be clear. The Bible doesn’t mean you should SAY that God is first in your life. It means to LIVE with God first. You are seeking His Kingdom and putting Him first by your decisions and deeds. Lip service only deceives self. Your love for God is proven by your actions. I John 2:3

How do we put God first? What does that life look like?

Give God the First Hour of the Day.

Psalm 63:1  “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, My flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”

Mark 1:35–37  “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.”

Spending time alone with God in prayer, Bible reading, and meditation is essential. During this time you center your mind, heart and soul around God. Your inward man is renewed and grace is given for the day ahead. (more…)
