Sin changes the way you see the world. The more you sin, the more foolish you become. Reject temptation and be wise.
Psalm 53:1 “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: There is none that doeth good.”
I knew a preacher that used to say, “Sin makes you stupid.” The longer I live, the more I agree with him.
Sin is a trojan horse that promises pleasure but has hidden consequences. It begins to change the way you think and feel.
Like a computer virus, sin begins to rewrite your operating system. It changes your priorities, motivations, hopes, and fears. In fact, you become a different person as you go deeper into sin.

We all know people that used to be honorable who sin has corrupted. The world is full of examples. Women that used to be good mothers, who now neglect their children because of alcohol. Men who paid the bills in the past, who gamble away the family’s grocery money. Upstanding citizens who have become zombies lying and cheating their way through life trying to find their next high on drugs. Previously honest people who lie to hide their sin.
Also, sin affects you mentally. I know many people who have changed their entire worldview after dabbling in sin. Individuals who were faithful Christians that now live in sin mocking those who have remained faithful to God.
These deceived individuals will even argue over the most obvious of transgressions.
This verse tells us that fools reject the very existence of God. How can someone look at the beauty and complexity of creation and believe that it happened by accident? Sin and pride.
How can someone leave a spouse and children for a passionate affair? Sin and lust.
How can someone rationalize the worst of sin? Because sin makes you foolish. If you are foolish enough to indulge in sin, you become ever more so unless you repent.
Once you start committing sin, you have only two choices. Either you agree with God and confess it as sin, or you disagree with God and start making excuses for it. The most natural person for you to deceive is yourself. In some cases, people change their entire belief system rather than submit to God.
The longer you play with sin, the more effect it will have on you. You begin to get numb to the change, but others will see it clearly.
Don’t just dismiss someone who approaches you in Christian love to express concern that you are changing. They may see something that you don’t.
Sin makes you stupid!
Commit to confessing the smallest sins in your life. Keep short accounts with God. Be brutally honest with yourself about your spiritual condition.
Fight temptation with every fiber of your being. Just say NO to sin.
