Your testimony as a believer brings God glory or blasphemy.  Make sure it is glory by saying NO to temptation.

2 Samuel 12:14“Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that isborn unto thee shall surely die.”

In this verse, Nathan the prophet is explaining to King David the consequences of his sin with Bathsheba.  The baby would not live but go to Heaven.  David would live. God had forgiven his sin.  Nevertheless, David’s transgression had given the enemies of the Lord an excellent opportunity to blaspheme.

Blasphemy is to speak evil against God.

The world knows that Christians are to live differently.  Most unbelievers have a general idea of what God declares as right and wrong.

When you obey the Lord, He can use your life to bring conviction to unbelievers and glory to Himself.

When you sin, your testimony loses its effect on the world.

Unbelievers need to see God working powerfully in your life.  Some are desperate for help.  They need to see your victory to know that God can give it to them as well.

These people want salvation to be true.  They want to believe that God can help their family.  They want to believe that there is One Who can calm their heart and protect them from their fears.

But, they have been disappointed so many times.  Their experience has taught them to expect hypocrisy.  They have tried counseling, programs, and religion, but they need to see that God is real.

On the other hand, multitudes don’t want to believe.  They are comfortable in their sin.  They don’t want the Lord to tell them what to do.  They don’t like the idea of an Almighty Creator that will hold them accountable.

They will grab onto any philosophy that gives them an excuse to disbelieve in God such as atheism, agnosticism, determinism, etc.

The enemies of God look for examples of inconsistency to prove their point.  Sometimes even being gleeful when a professing Christians sins.  They point out the transgression and begin to elaborate on the ineffectiveness of faith and religious fairytales.

They are ready to pronounce anyone a hypocrite to prove their point and further their cause.

These unbelievers also need to see faith in action.  With God’s help, you can show them a life of victory in Christ.  You can be a trophy of Grace as people know what you used to be and see what you are becoming!

You won’t be sinless this side of Heaven, but you can have undeniable victory in your life that glorifies God.

Don’t give in to temptation.  Don’t give the enemies of the Lord another reason to say bad things about your Saviour.

Submit to God today.  Say NO to temptation.  He can make your life an indisputable example of His power and goodness.

[callout]“Lord, I want to bring You glory. Please deliver me from temptation so I can show people Your goodness and power through a holy life. I surrender to you today. Make my life a testimony of Your salvation and my mouth witness of Your Gospel. Amen.'[/callout]
