Four Important Facts About Eternity

God loves you. Here are four facts about the afterlife that He wants you to know.

1.  Eternity is a long time.

Eternity is defined as “without end of existence.” That’s a long time!

The Bible uses synonyms such as everlasting, forever, and immortality.

Eternity is a reality that you must face!

2.  You will exist forever somewhere.

Your soul will never die. It will dwell somewhere forever.  When you were born, God gave you life in the form of an eternal soul. Your consciousness and your personality will exist forever.

Death is not the end. It is the doorway to eternity.

Some will suffer eternal torment in hell, and others will enjoy everlasting bliss in Heaven.

Revelation 21:8b“…and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

John 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

3.  You decide where you spend eternity.

Everyone is a sinner who has broken God’s Law.  Sinners cannot go to Heaven.

You must trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be forgiven.  If you do nothing, your eternal damnation is sealed.

God gave you free will. You must choose whether to accept or reject Jesus Christ as your Saviour.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 10:9  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

4.  You must live with your choice forever.

John 3:36  “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Romans 10:10, 13  “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The choice is yours, but understand that God will make you live with it for eternity. Your decision determines your destiny. Eternity is a long time to be wrong.

Don’t gamble with your soul.  God loves you so much that He made a way for you to be forgiven of your sin through faith in Jesus Christ.  Trust Him today!

Are you ready for eternity?

If you believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and the Saviour of the World, you should pray right now with all of your heart asking God to forgive you for Jesus’ sake.

He will hear your prayer and keep His promise. You can be sure that you will go to Heaven when you die.

If you are not sure what to pray, here is a simple prayer to help you.  It’s not the words that save you, but the faith in your heart.  Pray the best you know how and God will answer.

“Dear GOD, I confess that I am a sinner. I don’t want to go to hell when I die. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son Who shed His precious blood when He died on the Cross for my sin. I believe He rose again from the dead. I accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour. Please forgive me of all my sins and take me to Heaven when I die. I am trusting You and You alone as my hope for Heaven. Amen.”

If you are already born again, take a moment to rejoice in God’s amazing gift!  You may want to pass this along for others who need Christ.

If you were saved today, let me know so that I can rejoice with you.

Have a blessed day!

  1. This message is so simple and so important. I think God confounds the wise with the simple (foolish) so it’s exceedingly hard for some to believe that something so simple like a confession of the lips can effect their eternity. Great article Pastor Paul.
